Karl Mering
Whitman, Freshman
Boise, Idaho/Boise HS
Mering had a perfect week, winning nine races (including four relays), in leading the Whitman men's team (4-0 NWC, 6-0 overall) to three dual meet victories, including a 105-99 victory over Redlands, a team that placed seventh at last year's Division III national championships. Mering's five individual wins came in the 200-yard freestyle (twice), 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly.

Training and Redlands

7 solid days of training in the sun later we are a better, faster team and family. On Monday we split the dual against Redlands with the men walking away with a victory after being tied with two events to swim. The women put up a fight but fell in the last event for a narrow loss. We leave California behind us for duals against Linfield (Friday at 6) and Willamette (Saturday at 1). Hope to see you there!

On Sunday we went to Balboa Island and Newport Beach as a team for some fun in the sun. More pictures to follow

Together again at Last

After heading home for the holidays the team congregated in Southern California for our winter training trip. Flights from around the world brought us all to Ontario Airport early this morning. With the team together again, we went food shopping and settled into our hotels for the week. Then the long awaited first practice!

It is great to be back together again, especially with 80 degree weather.
