SPRINT! ok, now RELAY!

A great weekend of Conference Racing. Friday saw the team drive to Spokane, to compete in the sprint pentathlon hosted by Whitworth University. Everyone in the confrence swam the 100IM and 50's of each stroke. The swimmer with the lowest combined time was the winner.

Whitman had 5 top 10 finishes.

Keller Hawkins : 2nd overall (won the 50 back)
Katie Chapman: 9th overall (won the 50 fly)
Karl Mering : 3rd overall
Galen Sollom-Brotherton: 4th overall
Paul Chang: 10th overall.

On Saturday we were back home for the North West Conference Relays. Whitman had some very exciting races, capped off with a neck and neck race against Whitworth in the final event, the combined 400 free relay, which we won by .22 seconds.

Combined relay results: 2nd place overall
Womens Team: 4th place overall
Mens Team: 2nd place overall (3 points behind Whitworth)
