Cancer Sucks

The Hour of Power Relay was founded in the honor of Ted Mullin, a swimmer at Carleton College, who passed away in 2006 from a rare type of soft tissue cancer called sarcoma. Every year, the Whitman Swim team participates in this event to both raise awareness and funding for this disease, by sprinting for a full hour in relay teams.

In September, Ted’s coach at Carleton College Andy Clark was in town for his Whitman College reunion. We were blessed by the opportunity to have Andy tell us about Ted Mullin, his life and his legacy. We are happy to report that on top of fund raisers for the Ted Mullin Fund, the team was able to reach out to other Northwest Conference Schools and expand the Hour of Power to most of the Northwest conference teams!

If you would like to help check out the Ted Mullin Fund, or the Carleton College Hour of Power page.
